PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Wellington, a proud link in a chain of over 1256 schools spread across the country and in abroad, run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. The Kendriya Vidyalayas are pace setting institutions innovating, experimenting and pursuing excellence in the field of education with a common academic program promoting national integration and catering a sense of Indianness among children while ensuring their total personality development and academic excellence.
This Vidyalaya was established in the year November, 1981 as a Defence Sector School and functioning in the permanent building surrounded by picturesque green mountain valleys on all sides thus creating a perfect academic ambience for students, teachers and all other incumbents. This Vidyalaya is catering to the educational needs of the population around Wellington as one of the three Kendriya Vidyalayas in this district giving importance to plethora of Scholastic and Co-Scholastic areas in shaping the future citizens of our country.
The Vidyalaya affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education is maintaining high academic standards with the total students’ strength of 402 students from classes I-XII offering Maths, Physics, & Chemistry subjects with Biology & Computer Science as optional subjects in classes XI & XII. The Vidyalaya is adequately staffed with highly qualified, experienced and nationally competent teaching and non-teaching staff. The approved staff strength of the session is 20 among which some posts are filled with contractual teachers.
